Meet your instructor.
Hi, I'm Marlize
Marlize Nel is a PhD candidate focused on developing curriculum centred on decarbonisation education.
Previously, she worked as a Policy Officer at the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW), where she co-led initiatives to accelerate low-emission technology development and local manufacturing of renewable energy components.
She holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) from UNSW, majoring in electrical engineering, with multiple scholarships and awards.
Her experience also includes consulting on decarbonisation strategies, and advising businesses and government on emissions reduction. As a member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA), Marlize is committed to upholding standards that drive compliance and sustainability within organisations.
